Area of a Triangle Calculator
Area of a Triangle Calculator
In order to calculate the area of a triangle, you have to multiple the length of the base of the triangle (b) with the height or altitude of the triangle (h) and divide by 2:
½ × b × h
For example,
If the length of the base (b) equals 4 and the height of the triangle (h) equals 6, the area of the triangle equals 12:
½ × b × h = ½ × 4 × 6 = 12
A calculator for the area of a triangle is a tool that allows you to quickly and easily find a triangle's area when you know its sides' lengths. There are different ways to calculate the area of a triangle. One of the most commonly used methods is Heron's formula. This formula states that the area of a triangle with side lengths a, b, and c is:
Area = √(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))
Where s is the semi-perimeter of the triangle, which is calculated as:
s = (a+b+c)/2
To use a calculator for the area of a triangle, you would simply enter the lengths of the sides of the triangle into the calculator, and it would use the formula above to give you the area.
